About the role
The Student Information Systems (SIS) Analyst supports the configuration, administration, and ongoing operations of the Medical College of Wisconsin's student information and admissions systems. Reporting to the Application Systems Manager, the analyst provides technical application support for Banner and Slate, collaborates with Academic Affairs leadership and IT staff, and ensures smooth year‑round operation of student‑related processes.
Key responsibilities
- Configure and modify Banner modules, primarily Admissions, and support Slate implementations.
- Analyze user needs, develop software solutions, and triage help‑desk tickets.
- Communicate with vendors to debug, test, and resolve application issues.
- Participate in system upgrades, reconfigurations, and testing activities.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and act as liaison between departmental leaders and IT staff.
- Coordinate day‑to‑day IT troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Establish test plans, execute test cases, and document results.
- Provision and de‑provision network accounts for students, applicants, and staff.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures and training materials; deliver end‑user training.
- Provide on‑call support for planned maintenance outages.
Required profile
- Strong analytical ability to assess user requirements and design system solutions.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with leadership, IT teams, and vendors.
- Detail‑oriented with experience documenting processes and creating training resources.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
