Structural Engineer – Prefabricated Buildings

About the role

Advastar, Inc is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their team in Fort Wayne, IN. The role focuses on the design, calculation, and analysis of prefabricated and pre‑engineered structures, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. Candidates may work in a hybrid model depending on location.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural calculations and analyses for prefabricated and pre‑engineered building components.
• Use advanced engineering software (Excel, CAD, RISA or similar) to evaluate strength, stability, and code compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, estimating, and production teams to develop and review designs.
• Prepare and stamp engineering documents as the engineer of record, including supplemental calculations when required.

Required profile

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred; BSE with PE license or EIT considered.
• Solid experience with structural calculations for steel, wood, or hybrid construction.
• Background in building construction design and basic MEP design elements.
• Ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
