Structural Engineer – Prefabricated Buildings

About the role

Advastar is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its Boise team, focusing on the design and analysis of prefabricated structures. The role involves applying advanced engineering techniques to ensure strength, stability, and code compliance of steel, wood, and hybrid building systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural calculations and analyses for prefabricated and pre‑engineered building components.
• Utilize software tools (Excel, CAD, RISA or similar) to evaluate steel, wood, and hybrid chassis designs.
• Ensure designs meet all relevant codes, regulations, and company standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, estimating, and production teams to produce stamped engineering deliverables.

Required profile

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred; BSE with PE license or EIT considered.
• Experience with structural calculations, steel and wood analysis, and component design (roofing, sheathing, fasteners).
• Background in building construction design, including basic MEP coordination.
