Store Manager

About the role

Hot Topic is looking for a Store Manager in Lafayette to lead its store at Acadiana Mall. The manager sets the store's direction by driving sales targets, recruiting, development and performance management, while delivering great customer service and building a strong team.

Key responsibilities

• Meet the store's sales plan and comparable sales goals
• Recruit, develop and retain a collaborative team, mentoring staff through recognition and feedback
• Engage customers through social media, store web applications and clienteling
• Run an operationally sound business with clear structure, delegation and autonomy
• Watch shrink and loss prevention, payroll hours, schedules and other factors affecting the business
• Work with retail leadership and HQ on trends and customer feedback, and run sales reports to guide strategy
• Manage supply ownership and spend, and adapt to new technologies
• Merchandise the store using planograms and launch promos on time

Required profile

• At least 1-2 years of retail store management experience
• High school diploma or GED equivalent; a degree is an advantage
• Open-minded and curious about pop culture fandoms and music trends
• Able to move around the store, merchandise products with approved equipment and pack and unpack boxes weighing up to 50 pounds

• Communication, recruiting and operations (payroll, reporting, scheduling, merchandising)
• Ability to roll with change in a fast-changing retail environment
