Store Detective

About the role

Meijer is hiring a Store Detective in Anderson. The role keeps the store safe and secure for customers, team members and vendors, investigates internal and external theft including organized retail crime, and promotes proactive, preventive asset protection and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Visually inspect the building exterior and parking lot for potential hazards.
• Walk through the backroom and sales floor and conduct internal and shoplifting surveillance.
• Review cashier exception reports, theft activity reports and alarm system printers, and follow up as needed.
• Report safety hazards to Store Leadership and test and inspect camera equipment.
• Document incidents thoroughly, including facts that may be needed for litigation, and testify in criminal or civil court proceedings.
• Assist in apprehending those who break the law and help prosecute external theft cases.
• Follow all safety practices and perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of security experience, or at least 1 year of general work experience.
