Still Operator

About the role

Vesco Oil is seeking a motivated Still Operator to join its Detroit warehouse team. In this hands‑on position you will run distillation and recycling equipment, support warehouse activities, and help maintain a safe, efficient work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate distillation and recycling equipment in the still room.
• Load and unload mineral spirits, managing material flow from trucks and containers.
• Monitor equipment during shifts, troubleshoot issues, and perform minor repairs.
• Pump, label, seal, and package recycled product.
• Keep the still room and surrounding work areas clean and safe.
• Assist with general warehouse tasks such as loading/unloading trucks and preparing shipments.
• Tag, track, and document materials.
• Operate hi‑lo lifts, forklifts, and pallet jacks safely.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3 months related experience or a willingness to learn.
• Ability to lift 50+ lb and handle drums and materials.
• Comfortable working in a noisy warehouse with occasional fumes.
• Physical stamina for frequent walking, lifting, and equipment operation.
• Team‑oriented attitude with a strong work ethic.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (or ability to be trained).
• Hi‑lo equipment operation.
• Basic math proficiency.
• Computer literacy.
