STEM Academy Instructor/Mentor

About the role

The STEM Academy Instructor/Mentor supports the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s STEM Academy by delivering high‑quality instruction and mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students. This position works closely with faculty to develop and implement curriculum that fosters scientific inquiry and technical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver classroom and laboratory sessions in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics subjects.
• Provide one‑on‑one and group mentorship to students, guiding academic and career development.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to align instructional materials with university standards and accreditation requirements.
• Assess student performance, maintain records, and contribute to continuous improvement of the STEM Academy programs.
• Participate in outreach activities, workshops, and events that promote STEM education within the campus and community.

Required profile

• Graduate degree or equivalent experience in a STEM discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor diverse student populations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
