StaffFlex RN CCU - 13 Weeks, 36 Hours

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a StaffFlex Registered Nurse for its Critical Care Unit (CCU) in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. This is a 13-week contract of 36 hours per week, scheduled PRN days, at $70 per hour. StaffFlex nurses work contract assignments at one facility or float within multiple hospitals across 9 states.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care aligned with interdisciplinary goals
• Implement interventions safely and document them, and collect and document patient health data systematically
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols
• Collaborate on patient admission, discharge and transfer, and take part in peer review processes
• Educate patients and families on conditions, procedures and care plans
• Advocate for patients, ensure safe handoffs and follow CDC isolation guidelines and PPE use
• Participate in quality, safety and efficiency initiatives and use medical supplies and equipment responsibly

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Associate's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred)
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing)
• BLS/CPR certification required; TNCC certification preferred
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state

Required skills

• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise plans of care
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs

• $70 per hour, with a stated pay range of $15-$130
