Staff Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help build and scale Nectar Social’s AI‑native social operating system. You will work across the full stack, from high‑throughput backend pipelines that ingest social data to product interfaces that enable brands to manage conversations with AI assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services that collect and process large volumes of data from platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, X and LinkedIn.
• Develop resilient third‑party API integrations and optimise infrastructure for AI workloads.
• Improve reliability, performance and cost efficiency of data pipelines and backend services as the platform scales.
• Build AI‑powered product features like conversation inboxes, suggested replies and summarised insights.
• Enhance shared UI components, design systems and frontend architecture to accelerate product development.
• Establish operational best practices, including monitoring, incident response and on‑call rotation.
• Write architecture documents and guide tooling, infrastructure and frontend decisions across the engineering team.

Required profile

• Proven experience building large‑scale backend systems and data pipelines.
• Strong ability to influence architectural decisions and raise code quality standards.
• Comfortable collaborating with product, design and cross‑functional teams.
• Track record of mentoring engineers and promoting best engineering practices.
