Staff+ Software Engineer, Experimentation

About the role

Anthropic is building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The Staff+ Software Engineer, Experimentation will shape the configuration and experimentation infrastructure that powers safe roll‑outs, A/B testing, and data‑driven decisions across research and production workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical strategy and roadmap for config and experimentation platforms.
• Maintain and evolve the architecture for feature flagging, dynamic configuration, and large‑scale experimentation.
• Design and build scalable, reliable distributed systems and shared libraries supporting high‑volume workloads.
• Own the tooling that enables engineers and researchers to ship config changes, run experiments, and measure impact safely.
• Establish standards, frameworks, and tooling that boost developer productivity across the organization.

Required profile

• Deep experience with configuration management, feature flagging, or experimentation platforms at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Rust and/or Go.
• Passion for developer productivity and reducing friction in configuration, testing, and deployment.
• Experience with container orchestration and large‑scale infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to work independently on ambiguous, high‑impact technical challenges.
