Staff Physician – Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine

About the role

The University of Miami Medical Group is seeking a Staff Physician to join the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. The role involves delivering high‑quality patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings while supporting the division’s academic and operational missions.

Key responsibilities

• Direct care of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
• Monitor and maintain pulmonary support, including ventilator and life‑support system management.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, diagnostic studies, and post‑discharge care protocols.
• Order laboratory tests in accordance with practice guidelines.
• Supervise medical services to ensure quality, safety, and appropriateness of care.
• Participate in quality‑assurance programs, peer review, and clinical research initiatives.
• Oversee allied health professionals and nursing staff within the division.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate documentation in medical records.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible physician in Pulmonary, Critical Care, or Sleep Medicine.
• Ability to work collegially with multidisciplinary teams across the university and affiliated hospitals.
• Commitment to education, research, and continuous improvement of patient care.
