Staff Physician – Medical Oncology

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a dedicated Staff Physician to join its Division of Medical Oncology. The incumbent will provide comprehensive medical care to oncology patients, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans addressing biological, psychological, and sociocultural aspects.
• Perform respectful physical assessments and prescribe appropriate clinical drugs.
• Gather accurate patient information through record review and interviews with patients, families, and caregivers.
• Report hazardous conditions, equipment issues, and quality‑assurance incidents according to department guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient data in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Participate in continuing education to stay current with oncology advances.

Required profile

• MD in a relevant field with board certification or eligibility in Hematology and/or Oncology.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize under pressure, and handle confidential information discreetly.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Commitment to the University’s core values and policies.
