Staff Physician – General Internal Medicine

About the role

The University of Miami Medical Group is seeking a Staff Physician in General Internal Medicine to provide high‑quality primary care for adult patients across UHealth ambulatory locations. This full‑time position supports a multicultural patient population and contributes to the academic mission of education and research.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive primary‑care services to adult patients in a clinic setting.
• Maintain an outpatient schedule of nine half‑day sessions per week.
• Participate in scholarly activities, including clinical research and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Engage in quality‑improvement and systems‑compliance initiatives at the division, department, and university levels.
• Provide clinical and educational support at Jackson Memorial Hospital, including inpatient wards, consultation services, and resident clinics.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree with completion of an ACGME‑accredited Internal Medicine internship and residency.
• Board certification (or eligibility) in Internal Medicine.
• Eligibility for an unrestricted Florida medical license.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS certification if applicable.
• Valid DEA licensure.
• Commitment to patient‑centered care and academic excellence.

• Ability to maintain CME requirements and meet state licensing standards.
• Strong clinical expertise to ensure safe, high‑quality patient care.
