About the role
The University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute seeks a Staff Physician Fellow to join its renowned ophthalmology department. This full‑time, on‑site position supports resident education, direct patient care, and clinical operations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide extensive direct ophthalmic patient care, including clinic and operating‑room responsibilities.
- Participate in night and weekend on‑call rotations.
- Staff and supervise residents in clinics and surgical cases.
- Assist in teaching and training residents within the Ophthalmic Training Program.
- Assume appropriate administrative duties related to the fellowship.
Required profile
- MD or DO degree.
- Successful completion of an ACGME‑accredited ophthalmology residency in the United States.
- Board‑certified or board‑eligible in ophthalmology.
- Valid, unrestricted Florida medical license.
- DEA certification.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and willingness to take on administrative responsibilities.
