Staff Physician Fellow – Clinical Ophthalmology

About the role

The University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute seeks a Staff Physician Fellow to join its renowned ophthalmology department. This full‑time, on‑site position supports resident education, direct patient care, and clinical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide extensive direct ophthalmic patient care, including clinic and operating‑room responsibilities.
• Participate in night and weekend on‑call rotations.
• Staff and supervise residents in clinics and surgical cases.
• Assist in teaching and training residents within the Ophthalmic Training Program.
• Assume appropriate administrative duties related to the fellowship.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree.
• Successful completion of an ACGME‑accredited ophthalmology residency in the United States.
• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in ophthalmology.
• Valid, unrestricted Florida medical license.
• DEA certification.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and willingness to take on administrative responsibilities.
