Staff Pharmacist – Full‑Time at Sylvester Cancer Center

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a full‑time Staff Pharmacist to join the Sylvester Cancer Center. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, you will ensure safe, appropriate, and cost‑effective medication use while delivering timely therapy to patients.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise the centralized intravenous admixture program, focusing on chemotherapy and investigational therapies.
• Prepare and deliver total parenteral nutrition, injectable chemotherapy, antibiotics, and other IV medications.
• Review patient profiles and new orders to prevent drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
• Supervise the unit‑dose drug distribution program and ensure accurate delivery of medications to inpatients.
• Maintain inventory, emergency drug stocks, and controlled‑substance records in compliance with regulations.

Required profile

• Pharm.D. degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Current Florida pharmacy licensure in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience.
• Ability to train and supervise technicians, externs, and interns.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and related software.
• Experience in IV admixture preparation, compounding, and sterile technique.
• Knowledge of drug interaction monitoring and controlled‑substance security procedures.
