Staff Engineer, IT Network

About the role

Vistance Networks is seeking a Staff Engineer, IT Network to join its Aurora team in San Diego. The role involves designing, configuring, administering, and supporting secure multi‑vendor network infrastructure across multiple facilities and remote locations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain a multi‑vendor environment including SonicWall, Fortinet, Cisco, Ruckus, and Loadbalancer.org technologies.
• Administer and troubleshoot over 100 VPN endpoints and support customer‑managed Layer 2 circuits, routing, switching, and integrated services.
• Install, rack, cable, and configure network equipment and provide on‑site support for air‑gapped networks.
• Participate in after‑hours on‑call rotation, respond to incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and support planned maintenance.
• Support disaster‑recovery infrastructure, testing, validation, and business continuity planning.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, create documentation, and partner with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years experience in enterprise network environments with hands‑on switching, routing, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
• 3+ years experience with load‑balancing technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently onsite or remotely and travel as needed.
