Staff Attorney – Immigration Law

About the role

Join CWS as a Staff Attorney in Delray Beach, FL, and provide critical legal representation to refugees, asylees, and unaccompanied children. You will work within a mission‑driven team that strives to ensure safety, dignity, and legal protection for vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews and prepare clients for USCIS and EOIR proceedings.
• Represent clients in immigration courts, asylum hearings, master/individual calendar hearings, and USCIS interviews.
• Negotiate with USCIS officers, draft rebuttals, motions, and FOIA requests.
• Prepare and file immigration applications, briefs, and ancillary documents.
• Supervise support staff, manage case files, and ensure compliance with professional standards.
• Participate in community‑based organization meetings and task‑force discussions.
• Conduct legal research and contribute to grant applications and program development.
• Promote CWS legal programs through media outreach and coordinate outreach activities.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree with a specialization in immigration law.
• Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction.
