About the role

The Staff Attorney, Housing Justice provides comprehensive legal services to older tenants and homeowners, focusing on preventing displacement and preserving housing stability. This full‑time position combines direct representation, community outreach, and systemic advocacy within a nonprofit public‑interest law firm.

Key responsibilities

• Represent older tenants in eviction, ejectment, illegal lockout matters and administrative hearings for public or subsidized housing.
• File and argue preliminary injunctions and other pleadings challenging illegal lockouts.
• Advise and represent older tenants before the Philadelphia Fair Housing Commission.
• Handle mortgage foreclosure diversion, litigation, and tangled title issues through probate, estate administration, and deed preparation.
• Draft wills and planning documents to stabilize home ownership.
• Provide advocacy, referrals, and support for housing‑focused community clinics and client councils.
• Represent SeniorLAW Center on professional committees and coalitions related to housing justice.
