Staff AI/ML Engineer

About the role

CACI is looking for a Staff AI/ML Engineer to support the development of AI/ML algorithms across many disciplines, including large language models, natural language processing and time-series predictive analytics. The engineer works in a multidisciplinary team of developers and researchers focused on building ETL pipelines that support AI/ML and LLM solutions for customer challenges. The position is full time, based in King of Prussia, with up to 10% travel across continental USA, and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble large, complex data sets to support AI/ML algorithm implementation
• Build the infrastructure needed to extract, transform and load data from multiple sources
• Curate and maintain data used for metrics and evaluation
• Develop and implement AI/ML algorithms
• Improve internal processes, redesign infrastructure for scalability, optimize data delivery and automate manual work
• Develop software using Agile methodologies

Required profile

• B.S. in Data Science, AI/ML, Computer Science or a related field; M.S. or Ph.D. preferred
• 7+ years of experience, preferably as Data Engineer/Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer or Software Developer
• Team experience with version control (git, GitLab, Bitbucket)
• Active TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance desired, with polygraph

Required skills

• Data pipelines and normalization with Python (NumPy, Pandas, Polars)
• GitLab, DevSecOps, test-driven development, containers (Docker, Docker Compose), cloud services (AWS) and distributed computing (Spark, PySpark)
• Preferred: LLMs, transformers, NLP (BERT), reinforcement learning, GenAI Ops (LangFuse, MLFlow, Arize Phoenix), HuggingFace, LangChain, Linux, GPU programming with CUDA, Kubernetes, proposal writing
