Sr. C++ Software Development Engineer - ArcGIS Pro 3D Analysis

About the role

Esri is looking for a Senior C++ Software Development Engineer to join a team building tools that enhance the 3D analytic capabilities of ArcGIS, the world's leading geospatial platform. The work contributes to a modular, high-performance codebase supporting advanced 3D visualization and analysis for professionals in urban planning, architecture and engineering, and helps shape a platform used by millions worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Build C++ software components following industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies and deployment models
• Work with product engineers to implement requirements and create application architectures and APIs
• Create solutions for spatial data access and management of large datasets stored in a spatial database or file system
• Design and develop stable software with automated test validation
• Develop reusable components and libraries for internal and open-source use
• Work within agile processes for fast, short-cycle delivery
• Solve complex problems through application design, development and user experience

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience with modern C++
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS or a related field
• Prior experience developing and releasing commercial software
• Preferred: Master's degree and knowledge of parallel, multi-core and distributed programming (including CUDA)

Required skills

• Modern C++ and 3D graphics APIs such as WebGPU, OpenGL or DirectX
• Algorithms, data structures and design patterns
• Computational geometry, topology and data modeling for terrain and surface analysis
• Large vector and terrain/LiDAR datasets and 3D data structures
• Workflow computing, UI programming, scripting and test authoring
• Agile and test-driven development
• Preferred: Python, JavaScript, REST, JSON, cloud software, ArcGIS or other web mapping technologies
