Sr. C++ Software Development Engineer - 3D Data and Editing

About the role

Esri is hiring a Senior C++ Software Development Engineer focused on 3D data and editing. The team builds the world's leading geospatial mapping and data analysis platform, working in a fast-paced, iterative environment. The role applies expertise in CAD and 3D formats, LOD generation, mesh simplification and compression, real-time rendering and spatial data structures for large-scale database systems.

Key responsibilities

• Build C++ software components following industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies and deployment models
• Work with product engineers to implement requirements and create application architectures and APIs
• Design and develop stable software that includes automated test validation
• Develop reusable components and libraries used internally and as open source
• Work within agile processes for short-cycle, fast-paced delivery
• Solve complex problems through application design, development and user experience

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience writing robust C++ code (C++20, STL)
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS or a related field
• Experience developing software that runs in the cloud

Required skills

• Industry-standard 3D formats such as DWG, IFC, FBX, OBJ, glTF, USD, Collada and CityGML
• Databases such as Postgres, Oracle or SQL Server
• Algorithms, data structures and design patterns
• Agile and test-driven development
• Application scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and REST/JSON
• Preferred: strong C#, data visualization, mapping, GIS, 3D data processing and familiarity with the Esri ArcGIS Platform
