About the role

The Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget (OPB) offers a Spring 2027 internship for undergraduate students to gain hands‑on experience in state budgeting, legislative tracking, and policy research. Interns will work on real projects, supporting the Governor’s office and state agencies while developing professional skills.

Key responsibilities

Track legislative activity during the 2027 Georgia General Assembly session, following committee and floor proceedings and reviewing bills for fiscal impact.
Conduct research and analysis on policy areas such as education, health, public safety, economic development, and transportation.
Assist in reviewing agency operating budgets and preparing budget recommendations for presentation to the General Assembly.

Required profile

Senior‑level undergraduate student majoring in public administration, public policy, political science, economics, or finance.
Current enrollment with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Strong writing, organizational, and computer skills, with general knowledge of Georgia’s legislative process.
