About the role

The Clark Art Institute’s Division of Learning and Engagement is looking for a Spencer Intern to lead a weekly after‑school arts program for youth ages 8‑19 at the UNO Community Center in North Adams. This year‑long, grant‑funded position offers hands‑on experience in program planning, art facilitation, and museum audience development.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop a year‑long curriculum that connects Clark’s collection to community participants.
  • Staff and facilitate the weekly Wednesday program, including setup, cleanup, and activity testing.
  • Order, organize, and prepare art supplies and materials.
  • Engage warmly with participants and families as a Clark representative.
  • Assist with postering, newsletters, and monthly Clark First Sunday Free programs.

Required profile

  • Experience working with children.
  • Proficiency with a variety of art‑making materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Reliability, enthusiasm, patience, and a warm demeanor.

Required skills

  • Valid driver’s license.
