About the role

First Quantum is seeking an Instrumentation Specialist to technically represent the instrumentation team within an assigned area. The role ensures continuous technical‑administrative support, structured asset management, and the identification of improvement opportunities across mining and complex process operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation and drive solutions for recurring instrumentation problems.
• Lead standardisation of procedures and collaborate with other disciplines to optimise availability, reliability and performance of instrumentation systems.
• Represent the instrumentation area in meetings with operations, reliability, mechanical and planning teams.
• Prioritise technical resources based on operational criticality and contribute to maintenance strategy design.
• Document procedures, generate equipment life‑cycle records and produce instrument‑specific technical instructions.

Required profile

• University degree in Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of industrial instrumentation experience, including at least 5 years in mining or complex process environments.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation linked to mills, flotation cells, crushers, conveyors and auxiliary services.
• Proven ability to lead technical improvements and resolve recurring failures with structured analysis.
• Valid driver’s licence for field visits.
