Specialist Engineer – Intake & Exhaust

About the role

Polaris Inc. is seeking a Specialist Engineer to lead the design, development and validation of intake and exhaust systems for its off‑road vehicle lineup. The role owns the full product lifecycle from concept through production, ensuring performance, sound quality and integration meet the brand’s high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end system integration of intake and exhaust packages into vehicle platforms.
• Develop and maintain specifications, test procedures, DFMEA and DVP&R documentation.
• Create and release detailed design drawings using GD&T.
• Conduct design reviews and collaborate with cross‑functional teams, suppliers and external partners.
• Select manufacturing methods that satisfy performance, cost and schedule targets.
• Quantify system performance through lab testing, data acquisition and analysis.
• Investigate field issues, implement corrective actions and benchmark competitive solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum three years of experience in design and development engineering, preferably with intake or exhaust systems.
• Proven ability to work in an agile, cross‑functional environment.
• Strong communication skills and a data‑driven problem‑solving approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools, specifically CREO.
• Experience with CAE analysis tools.
• Knowledge of lab testing and data acquisition methods.
• Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R and GD&T.
