About the role
The University of Miami's Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a full‑time Special Procedures Technologist 2 to support interventional radiology services. The technologist will operate radiographic equipment, ensure high‑quality diagnostic imaging, and assist physicians during complex procedures while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Key responsibilities
- Verify patient identity and clinical history before each procedure.
- Assist with patient interviews, documentation, and informed consent.
- Prepare patients, maintain sterile technique, and position them for optimal imaging.
- Operate radiographic equipment and apply radiation protection principles.
- Provide necessary supplies and support to the radiologist throughout procedures.
- Monitor patients, initiate life‑support measures, and assist in CPR if needed.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to university policies.
Required profile
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in interventional radiology or similar setting.
- ARRT certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
