Special Procedure Technologist 2 – Interventional Radiology (Part‑Time)

About the role

The Special Procedure Technologist 2 supports the Interventional Radiology team at the University of Miami Hospital in Doral. Working part‑time (20‑30 hrs/week) you will operate radiographic equipment, ensure patient safety, and help deliver high‑quality diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and clinical history before each procedure.
• Assist with patient interviews, documentation, and informed consent.
• Prepare patients, maintain sterile technique, and position them for optimal imaging.
• Operate radiographic equipment to obtain diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure.
• Provide supplies and support to the radiologist throughout procedures.
• Monitor patients, initiate life‑support measures if needed, and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain knowledge of patient monitoring devices and radiation protection principles.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in radiology or related imaging services.
• Relevant certifications as required by the department.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols.
