About the role

Special Day Class Teachers provide direct instruction and coordinate instructional programs for students with exceptional needs enrolled in the special day class programs at Callison Elementary.

Key responsibilities

Deliver a basic core program for learning‑handicapped students in compliance with state education code requirements.
Manage a caseload with 95 hours of flexible work time for individual work and use three release days per year for assessment and report writing.

Required profile

Special Education Credential authorizing Mild/Moderate and English Learner.
Attach credential copy, resume, and three letters of recommendation to the application.

Required skills

Special Education instructional expertise for mild/moderate disabilities.
Ability to support English Learners.

What we offer

Additional $1,879 yearly pay for a Master’s degree or National Board Certification (or Doctorate).
Separate salary schedule for Special Education teachers – 10% higher than classroom teachers.
95 hours of flexible work time and three release days per school year.
