Spacecraft Propulsion & Thrusters Business Segment Director

About the role

Moog is seeking a senior leader to head the Spacecraft Propulsion & Thrusters Business Segment within its Propulsion Systems Business Unit. The role reports to the Director & GM of the Space Sector BU and is responsible for driving growth, product strategy, and financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic plan for the Spacecraft Propulsion & Thrusters segment.
• Own the P&L, setting targets for bookings, sales, and profit while managing the balance sheet.
• Oversee day‑to‑day execution of complex development and production programs for multiple customers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, industry partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Act as the escalation point for customer issues and drive improvements in on‑time delivery and product quality.
• Identify and support new business opportunities aligned with market needs.
• Contribute to unit‑level strategic planning, performance reviews, capital planning, and execution of business objectives.
• Collaborate with peers to develop workforce and capital plans that support segment growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or a related discipline; Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years of experience managing business functions in a diverse environment.
• Proven P&L leadership, including budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and commercial negotiations.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Excellent business and financial acumen with experience in contract management and risk assessment.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to balance long‑term vision and operational execution.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment while managing competing priorities.
