Sourcing Optimization COE – Transportation & Indirect Procurement

About the role
The Sourcing Optimization COE for Transportation and Indirect Procurement acts as a strategic and operational expert within the procurement function. The role designs, enables, and executes advanced sourcing events for transportation and logistics categories while supporting broader sourcing initiatives across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end execution of complex transportation sourcing events (RFIs, RFPs, eAuctions, optimization‑based events) covering TL, LTL, parcel, ocean, air freight and warehousing.
- Partner with Transportation & Logistics Category Managers and business stakeholders to define sourcing strategies, gather requirements, prepare bid data and develop data‑driven supplier award recommendations.
- Design, build and manage sourcing optimization models, including supplier allocation, network bids, lane assignments, capacity constraints and cost‑versus‑service trade‑offs.
- Develop, validate and analyse bid sheets, cost models, supplier responses and transportation datasets to maximize value creation.
- Serve as the COE subject‑matter expert for Coupa and other eSourcing platforms, configuring events, optimisation workflows and supporting technology enhancements.
- Drive adoption of digital sourcing tools by creating best‑practice guides, delivering training and promoting standard methodologies.
- Manage supplier engagement throughout events, from onboarding and communication to bid clarification, compliance validation and negotiations.
- Develop standardised sourcing templates, playbooks and methodologies to improve consistency and global process standardisation.
- Monitor performance metrics (savings, cycle time, participation, tool adoption) and identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading complex transportation and logistics sourcing events.
- Strong partnership skills with category managers, business stakeholders and suppliers.
- Ability to translate business requirements into data‑driven sourcing strategies.
- Experience in developing and managing optimisation models and analytical tools.
- Demonstrated capability to drive digital adoption and standardise processes across a global procurement function.
