Software Technical Support Engineer Intern

About the role

IPConfigure is seeking a Software Technical Support Engineer Intern to work on‑site in Norfolk, Virginia. The intern will collaborate with a dynamic engineering team, interact directly with integrators and customers, and help solve complex enterprise video management issues.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate technical information to customers via phone, email and electronic services.
• Analyze problems, debug, troubleshoot, write scripts and ensure issues are fully resolved.
• Create technical content such as Knowledge Base articles, samples, whitepapers and training material.
• Identify and report software bugs and customer suggestions.
• Build and configure servers, install software, test cameras, install network switches and run cables.
• Visit customer sites when remote access is unavailable and support limited travel for company events.

Required profile

• Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to convey complex technical information.
• Self‑motivated, target‑oriented, able to work independently and in a team.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in IT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Required skills

• Networking background (TCP/UDP, firewalls, certificates, authentication).
• Experience with Linux or Windows system administration.
• Debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Ability to write scripts for automation (bonus).
