Software Engineer – Sensor Fusion for AR/XR

About the role

Rivet is seeking a Software Engineer to design and implement sensor‑fusion systems for real‑time AR/XR applications on Android and embedded Linux devices. You will work at the intersection of perception, tracking, and spatial computing, delivering low‑latency, robust experiences for demanding operational environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop sensor‑fusion pipelines that combine IMU, camera, depth and other inputs for 3DoF/6DoF tracking.
• Implement calibration, synchronization, filtering and state‑estimation algorithms.
• Build high‑performance C++ and C# code for real‑time XR applications and integrate with OpenXR and AR runtimes.
• Optimize latency, motion stability and tracking performance on Android and embedded Linux platforms.
• Create tooling, visualization and debugging workflows for sensor validation.
• Develop companion Android services in Java/Kotlin and use Python for simulation and test automation.

Required profile

• MS with ≥3 years or PhD with ≥1 year of relevant professional experience.
• Deep experience in real‑time sensor fusion, robotics, AR/VR or spatial computing.
• Proven track record of shipping complex real‑time systems.
