About the role

Meta is looking for an experienced Software Engineer specialized in Machine Learning to join its product teams. You will work on cutting‑edge features that impact billions of users, tackling complex technical challenges across mobile and web platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, design, operations, and infrastructure teams to deliver innovative ML‑driven experiences.
• Implement custom user interfaces using modern programming techniques.
• Analyze, optimize, and review code for quality, efficiency, and performance.
• Set technical direction, lead major initiatives, mentor peers, and onboard new team members.
• Architect scalable systems and resolve performance and scalability issues.
• Own components or features end‑to‑end, working with a variety of languages and technologies.

Required profile

• Proven ability to drive change and lead complex technical projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of programming experience in a relevant language, or 4+ years with a PhD.
• Strong analytical skills to explain technical problems and propose solutions.

Required skills

• Experience with machine‑learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit‑learn.
• Understanding of information‑retrieval concepts (indexing, querying, ranking).
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, graph theory, and optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of NLP techniques including text preprocessing, tokenization, and sentiment analysis.
• Ability to integrate AI tools to improve workflows and deliver measurable impact.
• Familiarity with responsible AI practices (bias mitigation, risk assessment, quality reviews).
