Software Engineer

About the role

Hackbook is looking for a Software Engineer to help secure critical infrastructure, industrial organizations, and government entities. You will work on products that protect OT and IoT environments, collaborating with security professionals, industrial engineers, and analysts worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the full product lifecycle from idea generation, design, prototyping, to execution and shipping.
• Develop new features for backend services (Java, Go) and frontend applications (TypeScript, React, Redux).
• Collaborate closely with technical and non‑technical teammates to understand customer problems.
• Engage directly with users, including on‑site visits such as touring an auto‑manufacturer assembly line, to gather real‑world insights.
• Maintain and improve open‑source components like Cassandra, Spark, and Elasticsearch.

Required profile

• Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams.
• Self‑directed learner who can make independent decisions and ask effective questions.
• Active US security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
• Engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics.
• Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front‑end frameworks.
