Software Engineer II, Fullstack (App Experience)

About the role

Affirm is looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Marketplace and App Experience team. You will work on the core consumer journey across mobile and web, building and evolving the Home hub and related product experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Break down large cross‑team projects into manageable tasks and deliver them in phases.
• Collaborate with product, design, and analytics teams during ideation, technical scoping, and risk assessment.
• Develop and maintain front‑end features for both web (React/Vue) and mobile (React Native) platforms.
• Design, implement, and scale APIs using Kotlin or Python.
• Monitor metrics, support on‑call duties, and ensure the reliability of team artifacts.
• Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and mentor peers.
• Engage in team community activities, including interview processes.

Required profile

• 1.5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience shipping web applications with declarative UI frameworks (React or Vue).
• Experience delivering mobile applications using native or cross‑platform tools (React Native).
• Proficiency in building scalable APIs with Kotlin or Python.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to navigate large codebases, and write clean, well‑tested code.
• Effective verbal and written communication for global collaboration.
