Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our small, high‑performing engineering team. You will work on improving and creating file‑based media workflows for TelevisaUnivision, tackling a variety of technical challenges across back‑end and front‑end development.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python‑based back‑end services (≈80% of effort) and React/HTML5 front‑end components (≈20%).
• Integrate with third‑party APIs and define design patterns for external system integration.
• Identify automation opportunities in media management and deliver maintainable scripts and tools.
• Create and keep up‑to‑date documentation for code, deployment processes, and user training.
• Act as an escalation point for complex media‑management software issues.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements and implement new metadata and video‑file workflows.
• Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Utilize the Elasticsearch stack (Beats, Logstash, Kibana) for data collection, processing, and visualization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of professional development experience.
• Strong background in Python development and RESTful API design.
• Hands‑on experience with Django and modern front‑end technologies (React, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS).
• Familiarity with cloud environments (preferably Google Cloud), containers, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
