Software Engineer

About the role

Artie is seeking a Software Engineer focused on distributed systems to join its small San Francisco team. You will work directly with customers, wear multiple hats, and help shape the next generation of Artie's real‑time streaming platform.

Key responsibilities

• Build column‑level encryption, launch the analytics portal, and implement schema‑change alerts.
• Develop tooling to automate and streamline infrastructure workloads.
• Optimize pipeline efficiency by balancing virtual memory and disk usage.
• Create native change‑data‑capture (CDC) connectors for new data sources.

Required profile

• Strong fundamentals in computer science.
• Pragmatic mindset focused on building the right solution.
• Comfortable jumping across the stack and taking on varied responsibilities.
• Desire to define a next‑gen data platform with zero latency, ease of use, and extensibility.
• Experience with scaling asynchronous systems; exposure to gRPC, Kafka, Kubernetes, Helm is a plus.
• Proficiency in Go is preferred but not mandatory.
• Willingness to work onsite five days a week in San Francisco’s Financial District.
