Software Engineer II – Secure Software & Cloud

About the role

Cox Auto is seeking a Software Engineer II to apply secure software engineering principles across design, development, testing, and cloud infrastructure. The role works cross‑functionally to translate business requirements into resilient, scalable, and secure solutions while delivering measurable business value.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners and architects to design secure, scalable software and cloud services.
• Develop, test, and maintain code following secure coding practices and agile methodologies.
• Estimate effort, resources, and timelines for features and system elements.
• Create and execute unit and system tests to validate critical code paths.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and enhancements for existing and new features.
• Document best practices, processes, and repeatable methodologies.
• Communicate status, challenges, and risks to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS or related field with 3+ years of software development experience (or Master’s with 2+ years).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
• Must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

What we offer

• Competitive base salary ranging from $89,400 to $134,000 per year.
