Software Engineer II

About the role

Uber is looking for a Software Engineer II to join its New York engineering team. You will design, develop, and test high‑impact software components that power some of the highest‑traffic systems at the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software applications using Uber’s technology stack.
• Build scalable, distributed software systems and integrate them into fully functional products.
• Resolve production issues and improve system reliability.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to enhance efficiency and user experience.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle from ideation to productionization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Experience with C++, Python, Java, and version‑control tools (Git or SVN).
• Proficiency in SQL or MySQL and strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with designing technology stacks, debugging production services, and working with distributed systems.

What we offer

• Competitive salary range $171,000 – $209,000 per year.
