Software Engineer II – C/C++ (Hybrid)

About the role

Mastercard’s Global Credit Authorization team is looking for a Software Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain high‑performance C/C++ applications that power the company’s worldwide authorization platform. The role is hybrid, based in O’Fallon, MO, with three days on‑site each week.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable C/C++ software meeting Mastercard’s engineering and security standards.
• Deliver user stories within Agile sprint cycles while ensuring high quality and reliability.
• Create unit tests and automated test coverage using frameworks such as Google Test or JUnit.
• Collaborate with quality engineers for functional, integration, and system testing.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and documentation.
• Support production systems through incident response and on‑call duties.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and automation efforts.

Required profile

• Strong programming experience in C and C++.
• Proficiency with Linux development environments.
• Familiarity with scripting, preferably Shell scripting.
• Experience using source control systems such as Git or Bitbucket.
• Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.
