Software Engineer II - Android Engineer

About the role

JPMorgan Chase is looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Consumer and Community Banking payment technology team. In this role you will help design, develop, and maintain market‑leading Android applications that are secure, stable, and scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement creative software solutions, thinking beyond routine approaches.
• Write secure, high‑quality production code and review/debug code from teammates.
• Drive adoption of enterprise‑authorized AI‑assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Leverage SDLC tools, including AI‑assisted development and automation, to increase efficiency.
• Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to boost operational stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical fit.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages and frameworks listed below.
• Proven experience guiding teams in the responsible use of AI‑assisted development tools.
• Strong understanding of secure coding, data sensitivity, and resiliency expectations.
