Software Engineer I

About the role

Twitch’s Commerce Engineering team builds the products that let viewers support creators—Subscriptions, Gifting, Bits, Hype Train, and Turbo. As a Software Engineer I you will help design and deliver immersive, high‑scale features for millions of live‑stream users.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable applications that handle millions of concurrent users.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Turn customer feedback into innovative features that improve the Twitch experience.
• Maintain and improve existing commerce services and experimental features.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to build consumer‑facing products that users love.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent real‑world experience.

Required skills

• Experience with modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and schema design.
• Go programming language (preferred for production systems).
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure.
• Experience with mobile development (native or hybrid) and email/notification technologies is a plus.
