Software Engineer – Fixed Duration

About the role

Lilly’s ADMET Intelligence group is seeking a full‑stack developer to enhance scientific workflow management applications. You will collaborate directly with laboratory scientists to translate experimental needs into robust software solutions that support assay requests, plate definitions, sample tracking, and results analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features and improve existing functionality for workflow management tools.
• Maintain and extend integrations with internal and external APIs.
• Design, implement, and test PostgreSQL database schema changes and write efficient queries.
• Write unit and integration tests, ensuring high code‑coverage.
• Apply best practices for code quality, documentation, CI/CD pipelines, and architectural design.
• Act as a liaison between discovery teams and IT/Cloud groups, converting scientific intent into engineering specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience building full‑stack Django applications in a life‑sciences or R&D environment.
• Active GitHub profile with public Python contributions.
• Authorization to work in the United States on a full‑time basis (no sponsorship provided).
