Software Engineer – Early Career

About the role

We are looking for a creative, highly motivated early‑career software engineer to join General Motors’ Digital Vehicle Experience group. You will work on cutting‑edge software that powers Software‑Defined Vehicles, contributing to embedded, digital, and cloud‑based solutions across our vehicle portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and architect software for embedded control systems, vehicle digital experience, over‑the‑air updates and mobile applications.
• Implement physics‑based controls and diagnostics strategies using embedded development frameworks.
• Apply best software design principles, design patterns and hardware abstraction layers in Android, QNX and Linux environments.
• Validate software functionality with automated test tools on benches and in‑vehicle.
• Collaborate within an Agile Scrum team, participate in planning events and share knowledge.

Required profile

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Strong interest in automotive software and controls.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, attending the office three days per week.

Required skills

• Embedded development experience with Android, QNX or Linux.
• Understanding of embedded systems and control software.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum development processes.
