About the role

BETA Technologies is building electric aviation products and the manufacturing systems needed to produce them at scale. We seek a Software Engineer with strong computational geometry experience to develop production-quality software that transforms part and assembly geometry into validated manufacturing outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop software to import, analyze, transform, and generate complex 3D CAD geometry.
• Generate and validate production tooling geometry, including offsets, splits, boundaries, and trim definitions.
• Create automated manufacturability checks to identify geometry, tooling, and process risks early.
• Integrate geometry‑processing workflows with CAD, CAM, CNC machining, and downstream manufacturing systems.
• Spend time on the factory floor to close the loop between digital models and physical tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to take ambiguous technical problems from concept through implementation and deployment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, especially when software must respect physical constraints.
• Clear communication and collaboration with subject‑matter experts outside software engineering.
• Ownership‑oriented mindset and willingness to learn detailed manufacturing processes.

Required skills

• Computational geometry, geometric modeling, CAD/CAM, or engineering simulation.
• Experience processing CAD representations such as B‑reps, surfaces, curves, meshes, point clouds, or solid models.
• Proficiency in Python, Rust, Go, C++ or similar high‑performance languages.
• Experience with geometry operations like offsets, intersections, trimming, tessellation, topology repair, or feature recognition.
• Integration of software with CAD, CAM, PLM, CNC, metrology, or manufacturing‑execution systems.
