Software Development Engineer (New Grad / Entry Level)

About the role

Join Qumulo’s engineering team to work on a distributed storage engine and related services that help customers store, manage, and protect massive data sets. You’ll be mentored by senior engineers and gain hands‑on experience across fault‑tolerant block layers, transactional file systems, and cloud‑native storage components.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on design, code reviews, and pair programming to deliver high‑quality software.
• Contribute to full‑lifecycle feature development and testing using C, Rust, and Python.
• Define and implement customer‑facing features and internal system improvements.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (or graduating within 9 months) with a degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Ability to write well‑factored, maintainable, and well‑tested code.
• Strong grasp of algorithms and data structures with experience in distributed systems, databases, concurrency, or operating systems concepts.
• Authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).

Required skills

• Proficiency in C, C++, Rust, Java, or Go (demonstrated through coursework, internships, or projects).
• Experience with Python for scripting and testing.
