Software Applications Developer III – AI/ML

About the role

The Autonomy Research Institute at Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi seeks a senior Software Applications Developer to lead AI/ML‑enabled software projects. You will design, build, and maintain web‑based and server‑side solutions that support Unmanned Aircraft Systems, while mentoring junior developers and student workers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, debug, test, deploy, and maintain applications using C#/.NET, JavaScript, and Python.
• Train, evaluate, and optimize AI/ML models for production environments.
• Integrate AI/ML components into both front‑end and back‑end systems.
• Ensure applications are secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
• Review and approve software designs, coordinate multiple codebases, and enforce development best practices.
• Create and approve test plans for AI/ML models and software solutions.
• Participate in data architecture design, system optimization, and performance tuning.
• Supervise and mentor junior developers and student workers, providing technical guidance.
