About the role

The Social Worker in the Cancer Center provides patient‑ and family‑centered psychosocial care, helping individuals navigate the challenges of cancer treatment across regional sites.

Key responsibilities

Assess and plan interventions to address social, emotional, financial and environmental problems.
Conduct psychosocial assessments, counseling, education, advocacy, referrals and crisis intervention.
Document treatment recommendations, care coordination interventions and develop care plans.
Engage patients and families to reduce barriers and ensure adherence to treatment plans.
Maintain a network of community resources and connect patients to them.
Supervise social work interns and assist in training new caregivers.
Educate staff on the impact of social issues on health outcomes.

Required profile

Master’s Degree in Social Work from a CSWE‑accredited program.
State Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and LISW within five years of hire.
Minimum two years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
Ability to work days, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, on‑site at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.
