About the role
The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is seeking a motivated Social Media Intern to support the Director of Financing and Outreach. This six‑month internship offers exposure to UN humanitarian coordination and the chance to contribute to global communication campaigns.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in planning, developing and implementing social media campaigns for the Director’s X and LinkedIn accounts.
- Research, draft and edit impact stories for the StoryHub platform.
- Create and schedule content for flagship events and missions.
- Design engaging graphics, promotional materials, posters and digital assets for social media use.
- Select and caption images for public dissemination, ensuring proper metadata.
- Monitor and record media impact, update monitoring lists and analyse social media trends.
- Support the evolution of the Social Media Strategy by researching new platforms and community‑growth tactics.
Required profile
- Enrolled in or recently completed a graduate‑level program.
- Strong interest in humanitarian issues and international development.
- Excellent written communication skills in English.
Required skills
- Social media content creation and copywriting.
- Graphic design for digital platforms.
- Research and monitoring of social media analytics.
