Snow Cat Operator

About the role

The Snow Cat Operator joins Discovery Land Company’s Snow Surfaces Department at Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, ensuring ski and snowboard trails are groomed to a pristine, consistent surface for guests. Working after the mountain closes, you will operate state‑of‑the‑art snowcats to create the classic corduroy finish that defines a great on‑piste experience.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate snowcat grooming equipment across designated trails, ramps, and maze areas.
• Conduct thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspections to detect mechanical or safety issues.
• Monitor equipment performance during shifts and report any unusual noises, leaks, or warnings.
• Communicate equipment condition and repair needs to the Vehicle Maintenance Team.
• Follow established grooming patterns, resort procedures, and manufacturer recommendations.
• Adhere to all company, mountain, and occupational health and safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment, snowcats, or tractors preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge to identify equipment malfunctions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently with high attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings after mountain hours.
